Just found at History-sites.com where I can order a Confederate record. I don't mind doing this at all and it would benefit the message board. Should I order one under the name of Isam Beams or wait until I have proof that he is actually by great-great grandfather. Maybe the record would be the proof. Heck, I don't have many relatives left and one I did call (my great aunt) is 90 years old and couldn't tell me much.
