Becky,
Coleman Younger McGarrah enlisted on July 1, 1862 for 3 years by Captain John Miller in Bryan's 1st Cherokee Battalion Partisan Rangers (Confederate) in Benton County, AR. He was paid on Sept. 30, 1862. This unit was consolidated into what would become the 2nd Cherokee Mounted Volunteers on February 3, 1863. Coleman's younger brother, William McGarrah, also served in these units.
I show that Coleman McGarrah was born about 1833 in Benton Co., Ar., the son of Thomas McGarrah and Rachel Graham. He married Phoebe Ann Eden. He died Feb. 16, 1904 and is buried in Frisco Springs Cem., in Benton County.
I will be glad to provide sources for this information if you are interested.
