Re: 14th KS Cav at Ft Smith, Feb 1864

Thanks Dale. I am familiar with these sources. The report from Thayer is merely recounting Phillip's report. Willett's Battalion left Ft Gibson as Phillip's advance -- not Ft Smith. With the exception of the member of the 2nd KS, who is describing an expedition in Southwest Arkansas, the rest of the reports are describing Phillip's expedition from Ft Gibson to the mouth of Little River on the Canadian and then south along the Chickasaw-Choctaw boundary. I have yet to find info regarding the balance of the 14th KS Cav heading from Ft Smith to North Fork Town to reunite with Willett's battalion and join in the expedition.
