You refer to a column that left Ft Smith on Feb 7, 1864 and crossed the Ouachita Mtns. Wasn't this an expedition through southwestern Arkansas to Caddo Gap, AR? (as opposed to moving toward North Fork Town in the Muscogee(Creek) Nation).

Also, I do not believe that Phillips' 1864 Expedition entered the Choctaw Nation other than to cut the northwest corner from the mouth of Little River down the Dragoon Trail toward Ft Washita. By Phillips post-expedition report, he intended to invade the Choctaw Nation next but had only invaded the Creek, Seminole, and Chickasaw Nations in Feb.
