Ken, I did a quick look see in Hindman's Letter Order Book for October 1862. There was a great deal of activity during this period and if I wasn't mistaken I recalled that M. W. Buster was in command during that time at Thalequah. Checking that out I found a letter from Hindman to Buster dated October 4th. It was in response to a letter from Buster but is of interest. There are some sixty pages of letters from this period. Send me an email address and I will attach that period along with the Misc. File containing the various commands returns for that period. Should allow you to sort it all out I think.
