Terry. Do you know how I can get a copy of your original transcription? I'd love to compare it to mine. It is an understatement to say the transcription is "difficult". I spent hours, as I'm sure you did, getting familiar with the handwriting to figure out words. The online scans are very good. In reading through them, I've already made some updates to what I have done so far. Lars and I have been working on annotating, footnotes, and adding biographical info as well as a roster of Watie's Rgt. There is some interesting info on the IHG and their movements such as the scout down the Illinois and shooting across the river at Webbers Falls. Also, info on the destruction of Ft Davis. Secondary sources hype the destruction of Ft Davis as a battle, one source speaks of "artillery", but actually the fort was unoccupied and Phillips destroyed it as they passed back and forth from Ft Gibson to the Creek Agency trying to contact D.N. McIntosh about "turning over".

Thanks for the Hindman and Warren Day papers. I'll get these online soon -- I said last week... maybe this week. I've got a lot going on right now getting my fiance moved to Bartlesville. Lots of interesting info in the Hindman papers regarding the IT.

Ken
