I am a British author currently engaged in writing a book of eyewitness accounts of the American Indian Wars from 1607 to 1890. I need an eyewitness account of the Massacre at the Tonkawa Mission in Indian Territory that took place on 24th October 1862. I believe that there are some reminiscenses by a survivor that appeared in the Ponca City (Oklahoma) News on 15th September 1939, but their archive doesn't appear to go back anywhere near that long ago.
