John Ross 2nd wf was Mary Brain Staples married Sept.7,1844 in Philadelphia-Vol-13,pg 421

Lt.Col. William P. Ross was the Nephew of John Ross was on the Cherokee Exec. council.
Was he also arrested ? Was he to become a deserter?

Judge John S Vann build a large log house at Goose Neck Bend on the Arkansas,he was married twice, this may or may-not be his wife's father-these other Vann's also? Vol 25 Pg-323
Fannie Vann wife of Florian H Nash

I'm looking for the story article, but I'll as best remembered. Chief Ross had just been paid the Cherokee Indian annuity payments a large sum in excess of $100,00 paid in gold and some-Confederate moneys, knowning he maybe robbed he had his niece hide it all at her home,in the basement, along his with the deed for the Cherokee lands. This is the (George Murrell home)the Confederate army was looking everywhere for it.(I think they even burned his house down John Ross's)
They never found the prize-Gold-money- and it looks like they all got away.
Ross of course could say it was lost to the war.
