Re: Head's and Glass' Companies
In Response To: Head's and Glass' Companies ()

Head's Company was commanded by Joseph Washington Head. His brother, John C. Head, was a Lieutenant in the same company. Joseph Washington Head was a wanted man after the war. He supposedly died in Kaufman County, Texas in 1904.

The company was apparently raised in Arkansas which is where the Head family resided. Unless some evidence can be found that identifies this company as being raised in Texas or shows that it was designated as Texas Cavalry, it should probably be classified as an Arkansas unit.
