Danny Knight,

Have you determined a legal description for Camp Garland? I strive to get a legal description for the places mentioned in the "Some Military Posts and Hideouts in Indian Territory" section of my book.

The township map on this web page may direct a researcher to the approximate township and range without wasting a lot of time zeroing in on your target.

The following web page shows the Oklahoma counties that I've scanned and abstracted, thus far. This is a time consuming task, but certainly worth the effort for one's home county. Since the Initial Point is in Garvin County, it was the first area surveyed, and it seems the surveyors collected less info as they progressed further from the Initial Point. But maybe the relative populations explains how much info is on the surveys.

Fort Arbuckle was in Garvin County, where I was reared, so I was thrilled with my findings on these original surveys.
