1843-era Sutlers and friends of Southern I.T.

Please help identify the men named or implied in the following 1843 listing.
.
Tax Collector James Bourland submitted this listing to the Republic of Texas Treasury Dept. since these were the items stolen in 1843 from a Texas Customs-House by U.S. Cavalrymen after they left Bourland tied and bound. ..The depositions of Bourland and Texas Legislator, George Washington Wright of Lamar County, were taken plus Bourland wrote a petition to Anson Jones, the Secretary of State of the Reupblic of Texas be filed in the Texas courts.
.
This "outrageous event" became a major bone of contention when the U.S. Congress and the U.S. State Dept. were considering the annexation of Texas. ..Gen. Zachary Taylor and his ilk on one side and Bourland's ilk on the other.
.
In U.S. President, John Tyler, last State of the Union address, he recormmended the the Texas Red River Tax Collector be paid. ..It seems that two U.S. Presidents and their cabinets spent hours discussing this topic that spurred numerous correspondences with attachments.
.
In summation, John C. Calhoun, U.S. Sec of State, was instrumental in making sure the U.S. Congress passed a law giving the "late" Republic of Texas $30,000 to cover this "Red River difficulty" that Texans called an "outrage." ... one of only four laws passed during the 2nd Session the 29th U.S. Congress.
.
I must include this John C. Calhoun quote that should make all Texans proud of Bourland and his perseverance ...“in the hope, therefore, of closing the discussion and putting an end to this exciting subject.”

I know this is off topic, but I think it is an important part of the history of Indian Territory.
.
Texas records implied that the above inventory had been lost, but was found in records housed in Wash, D.C. .. This listing will be published in future publications, so it behooves us to identify as many of these people as we can.
