Re: Samuel Clay Simons' wife Mary

I just recently found Samuel and Mary's marriage, 28 May 1857, recorded in Lawrence county, Missouri. But her name was not Matthews it was Carmen. She was the daughter of William and Lucy Carmen. Samuel lived in Lawrence county as late as December 1858, when he was selected for a Grand Jury. Samuel had two sisters that lived there; Jane and her husband, Charles B. Ward; and Jane and her husband, Alexander W. Ward.
