Is Johnson Station, on Brushy Creek, the same as Blackburn's Station? Blackburn's was a stop on the Butterfield Route (Ft Smith - Boggy Depot road or Overland Road) at or near the Brushy Creek crossing. In the ORs (Jan 1863), Steele mentions Blackburn's but later refers to "Johnson's on Brushy". Steele sent Speight's Brigade from Ft Smith to Johnson's Depot on Canadian (Camp Johnson where Cooper was) but redirected them to Doaksville via Johnson's on Brushy. Post war maps show Johnson's Station at the Brushy Creek crossing.
