I found a lot of references to Hillabee too but its location is more troubling.
I've struggled with contradictory references to its location. I believe there
are multiple locations called Hillabee within the area between North Canadian
and the Canadian just west of present Eufala. There is the site you
referenced on North Canadian which I found other references to.
Shrink's book says it was near present Stidham. In the ORs it is refered to
as being on Canadian.
As soon as I get time I'll post the references I found to Hillabee. My current
guess is anywhere in the "triangle" formed by the North Canadian, Canadian, and
roughly Hillabee Creek could be called Hillabee -- it could be this is where the
band from Hillabee Town in Alabama settled.
As you well know, there were only a handful of "towns" in IT with these many
other sites being no more than a residence or post office or trading post and
such. Like I said, I'll post the references when I can and we can all be confused
together. ;-)
