Re: Chilly McIntosh, a biography hot off presses

Patricia,
I really enjoyed reading about Rebecca McIntosh, but have to say one thing. Her mother was not full Creek. I don't know who Susannah's mother was (and she very well could have been Creek) However, I do know her father was Richard Rowe, who lived in the Hightower district in Georgia and Richard/Dick Rowe was a Cherokee. He was also my x4 grandfather. His son, David Rowe was born in 1820 and was 9 yrs old when his father left the CN East to go to the Arkansas lands. David Rowe was much younger than his sister, Susannah (Sookie) Rowe McIntosh. In the 1842 claims, you can read where Richard Rowe made a claim against Georgia for horses that got stolen, he made this claim in the Saline District and in an area that was known as Rowe's Prarie at that time, today it is known as Rose, Oklahoma.
