If your John Thompson was in Hightower, then I may know something about him. Please write to me at cwy1947@yahoo.com I am kind of confused about Vann's Prairie and Rowe's Prairie, something tells me they are not the same place

Rowe's Prairie is outside of Locust Grove and I don't know the boundaries, it may go as far as Pryor? It would be East of Locust Grove and South East of Pryor. I found a reference for Vann's Prairie from some Confederate troops that camped there, said it was near Joe Vann's place. If that is the oldest son of Avery Vann and Peggy McSwain, then you can find the Cavelier Cemetery located on that land. Look at Find A Grave in Mayes County.
