Re: History of 14 Flags Exhibit

Ralph,

The rectangular St. Andrews Cross battle flag is not just the second CS Navy jack - it was also the battle flag of the Army of Tennessee from 1864 onwards. In overall size the jacks were larger flags while the AOT flags were roughly 3 by 5 feet. I have been a serious historian of CS flags for over 25 years and this is one myth that needs to go away. Please visit our CS flags web site Flags of the Confederacy, which is the culmination of a combined 300 years of research by those of us who set it up. The URL is www.confederate-flags.org
