Capt. B. F. Carter, 1st Cherokee

Ken, or anyone else who might have knowledge of Co. I, 1st Cherokee. D. M. Condray enlisted in this company sometime in 1863 under a Captain B. F. Carter. The enlistment is said to have taken place in the Creek Nation. In 1864 while in Texas he was issued a disability while still serving under Captain Carter. Does anyone have any knowledge of this Capt Carter. The document I saw indicated this unit was also known as 1st Battalion MO Cav. I ran across this document by accident and it caught my attention due to there being a Captain B. F. Carter in Clardy's Battalion whose family had some ties to the Creek nation. Any thoughts?
