In the Alabama, Census of Confederate Soldiers, 1921, Record for Thomas U Roe (should be Thomas W Roe, my ancestor) he "claims" to have served with the 11th Georgia Cavalry and states that he surrendered at Kingston, Georgia in May 1865.
Actually I've found no proof that he served with that unit or any other. And in the same Alabama census paperwork he stated that his Captain was G C Roper, who I think was a Private, and his Colonel was J J Findley, who was really a Major.
His pension # was 5047.
I think he was stretching the truth a bit, but perhaps he was paroled at Kingston. That little tidbit might be true. The link provided has two pages to it. The Kingston part is on the second page.
