I find it interesting that agent of the US Government pretty much admit the culpability of the US Government in abandoning the Indians by removing US troops in violation of their treaties, etc. only to punish them after the war for siding with the Confederacy. But then, the Indians had long since grown accustomed to such forked-tongue dealings.....
