The primary consencous among IT historians places Sandtown NE of the place SR 51 crosses the Verdigris River west of Wagoner. The Sandtown Crossing was probably in that immediate area. There is still a Sandtown church/cemetery NE about a mile. This was probably the crossing Gano and Watie's force crossed before the 2nd Cabin Creek battle.
