Thank you for posting this ? 1909 reprint of the "Henry Jackson" map. ..Years ago, I had found part of this map on a Caddo Tribe web page posted by the Univ of Texas Archaeology Dept and wrote to the UT Archaeology Dept asking for permission to use this map in my book. ..I immediately received a form e-mail (used to be called a form letter) asking that I give the Univ of Texas credit, etc. ..A couple of weeks later, I received a thoughtful e-mail from the chairman of the Archaeology Dept stating that they do not own that map and that I have a good copy, so just credit give to "Henry Jackson who drew the map". .. BTW, I had sent a couple of corrections about the Caddo Tribe web page to the UT Archaeology Dept and she said that I was right but the official Caddo representative had sent what they posted, and they dare not change it. ..I hope that the Caddo researchers have, by now, read Cecile Elkins Carter's CADDO INDIANS, Norman OK, Univ of OK Press (1995), 420pp.

I must quickly state that I'm thrilled that others are NOW referencing my favorite map as the "Henry Jackson" map. ..A few of the maps in my book seem to be rare now. ..Over 20 years ago I darkened the doors of many libraries, found maps and made copies, of copies, on the spot. ..Now librarians of these libraries say they have never seen the maps I copied.

Tip for researchers. A few years ago, I discovered little trianglar-shaped plastic paper clips that I put on the long side of pages of books that state something relevant to my research. e.g. on the pages of Cecile Elkins Carter's book, I have 11 clips that will never rust.
