i am searching for any information on george w. thompson, born 1832, campbell county, kentucky, and married to "anna" about 1856, in kansas. i believe the thompsons moved to kansas from missouri prior to the war, and settled possibly in leavenworth county, or around kickapoo township. george w. was supposed to have remained in kansas, possibly serving in a home guard or union militia unit, while his brothers robert w. and benjamin f. went to texas and enlisted in the confederate service. george had a son he named "george mcclellan thompson," and robert w. had a son he named "jefferson davis thompson." any info would sure be appreciated!
