Accompanied 2 Squadrons 30th Texas Cavalry on a scout from Bankhead under command of major Davenport to Limestone Gap Choctaw Nation, distance about Ninety miles. Started on the 23rd day of July, 1863. Started on the same route with 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, Army of Texas to reinforce General Steele from Camp Bankhead on the 23rd day of August. Arrived at this Camp, Middle Boggy, on the 29th day of August, 1863.
