I am finding it more and more fascinating as I look into the location of Various Mills in Missouri, Arkansas and the IT. When examining the record it becomes clear that the Mills that were destroyed were usually the water mills, while the Steam Mills, and so far I have found only four, with three of those in Missouri, were continually garrisoned by someone or fights occurred there or near by. For both sides the Mills controlled their locales and who controlled the mills controlled the groceries. This is turning into a bigger project than I had originally envisioned.
