There were no casualties when Ft Davis was destroyed. There was only about a company of Creeks there and they abandoned the fort before the Union force got to it. The Union force passed through on their way to the Creek Agency looking for D.N McIntosh. Not finding him, they burned the buildings that made up the "fort" on their return to Ft Gibson. (The official name was Cantonment Davis. It was not a 'walled' fort.)

These may be long shots but they are my only ideas on where to look next. You could search the Indian-Pioneer Papers for mention of him, especially if a descendant was interviewed. You could look at the Dawes Packets for his descendants which might give a specific date of death etc.. You might search for his offspring in the chance there is mention of their father. I'm not familiar enough with Choctaw records to know where to look but you might contact the tribe for suggestions.
