It is actually this report that makes me think Phillips may not have come down the Texas Road to North Fork Town. It seems Brown's scout would have found him or found that he'd been through the area if Phillips main force came through North Fork Town and then southwest to Hillabee. If Phillips plan was to clear out the Creek Nation and perhaps more importantly to gather corn in the Creek Nation then the route via North Fork Town to Hillabee would be skirting the boundary of the Creek Nation. I can't be certain what his route was but it seems his plan would have taken him more through the middle of the Creek Nation.
