Yes, I happened to go through the files on Fold3 last evening and began to notice the records being mixed. I wonder if Fold3 can straighten out assuming it's possible. Not sure I saw Davis James listed but I think I saw David James . . . know I saw a bunch of other James. In the line I'm helping my sister on, there are 4 generations of Davis James . . . assuming we are right, there was a Davis James that likely was in the Trail of Tears and could possibly be of age to have been in Civil War. There is a Davis James buried in the Old Skullyville (Choctaw Nation) Cemetery that could be this early Davis James but there is no other info to say.

There are several muster rolls that simply say 'James" also.

I keep hoping to find info earlier than 1883 that can shed some light. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
