There is quite a bit of information on the web about Granville, and Tom Webb of Arkansas has thoroughly researched his history prior to the Civil War. The largest blank in the history is the period between 1860 and 1874. Regarding his marriage in Indian Territory, the wedding announcement in the March 30, 1864 edition of the Washington Telegraph (Arkansas) reported that on March 5th "Ass't Eng'r" Granville McPherson married "Lizzie P. Folsom of the Choctaw Nation".
