Fagan's Escort during Price's Raid.
In Response To: Fagan's men at Doaksville. ()

In Response To: Re: Fagan's Escort during Price's Raid? (ARushing)

[paraphrasing from the Memoirs of Colonel John C. Wright, com. Wright's regiment of Slemons' brigade of Fagan's Arkansas Cavalry Division]

... Missouri raid-Major N T Roberts commanding Battalion of 3 Co’s as Fagan’s escort came to my aid on his own hook more than once- there was no more splendid gentleman nor more gallant soldier and as always his men shared the spirit of their leader and were among the best troops. His Battalion ranked with Monroe’s regiment among the Ark cavalry. ...

Also Odom found in Arkansas compiled service records at Fold 3:

N T Roberts:
1. Captain N T Roberts of Anderson’s unattached Bn, Fagan’s Division
2. Captain N T Roberts of 1st Ark Mtd Rifles

Private, Sgt Major, adjutant, Capt Co F

FINDINGS:

1. MG James F. Fagan's personal escort during Price's Missouri Expedition consisted of 3 (small) companies of Captain N.T. Roberts battalion (detachment) from Capt. William L. Anderson's unattached battalion of Fagan's Arkansas Cavalry Division (41-1-641).
