Re: Letter from Price to Pike

Aaron,

My basic source for Sterling Price's request for Albert Pike to bring his Indian Brigade to Arkansas came from "Pea Ridge--Civil War Campaign in the West" by William L. Shea & Earl J. Hess, pp 49-50. Their reference citation (3-11) says that Price's letter of February 20, 1862 to Albert Pike was one of several he wrote from Strickler Station, including those to MG Earl Van Dorn (2-19-62) and BG Ben. McCulloch (2-23-62). These letters are noted to be found in Price's Papers in the Library of Tulane University, New Orleans.
