Sorry, about not replying earlier. I am still amazed at the depth of your research. I
am guessing that these were true iron bridges and not yet the Bessemner (sp.?)
method of steel soon to be the standard. What would minimum archaeological investigation
of the bridge sites possibly discover? Such a project might be worthy of a grad student
doing.
