p. 123 “In 1861, he (John Weiss Forney, then Secretary of the U. S. Senate, 1861-1868) founded the Washington Chronicle of which (John Russell) Young was in charge of for a time.”

p. 145 John Russell Young was setting near President Lincoln during his Gettysburg Address!

John R. Young, recording speech in shorthand for Philadelphia Press, leans across aisle and asks President Lincoln if that is all. Lincoln replies, "Yes, for the present."

The Gettysburg Dedication, including Lincoln’s “Gettysburg Address” was published three days later by the Washington Chronicle, on November 22, 1863 by John Weiss Forney and John Russell Young, both of whom were there.
