1897 I.T. Survey Plats

These are on the fifth floor of the Oklahoma Library Department where the Oklahoma State Archives are located. Right now, of course, it
is a moot point to go to OKC, but these survey maps, along with the surveyors' notes are invaluable for establishing land use patterns,
including roads, fields, bridges and the like. I first learned of these c. 1978 from the Oklahoma Archaeological Society and that land
use patterns of the 1896 era for eastern Oklahoma were largely unchanged from the Civil War era. This was in conjunction with research
on Honey Springs. For the western part of the state there is a somewhat similar survey from 1872. I do wonder if the Beale bridge sites
might show up, along with road details in the 1897 plats? Bears delving into! Alas, for Carroll, while this pandemic remains, he is akin
to Burgess Meredith as the voracious reader with time on his hands from the Twilight Zone but no means to put his plan into action!
