Hello -

A "Detachment Muster Roll" for Sept.-Oct. of 1862 describes the following Federal unit:

"Co. H Independent Battalion, 9th Michigan Infantry" being stationed at Cave City, Kentucky.

Questions/puzzles:

(1) Was this unit actually present/involved in the Battle of Perryville in Oct. 1862???

(2) What, exactly, was this unit doing during its duty and being stationed at Cave City, Kentucky???

(3) What other Federal units were stationed at/near Cave City, Kentucky during this time period? (possible clue?).

Any and all help, suggestions, etc. re this puzzle would be VERY greatly appreciated!!!!
