The copies of his service records I got say he transferred
from 17th Miss Infantry in Va to Army of the West July15, 1862 and served in Co F 2nd Ky cavalry until detailed as messenger to his uncle Gen D C Govan and appointed ADC July 27, 1864.
1)When did he enlist in the cavalry?Why Ky and not Miss cav?
2)When exactly was he detailed?
