Your message caught my eye, since I had some McGhee ancestors who served in Co. B of the 7th Ky Inf Reg. I have not done any detailed research on the 7th Ky Inf Reg, but the Arkansas connection for Co. K was kind of interesting. I did a quick search on the internet and found an Arkansas connection to this Co K.

You will find a history of the 13th Arkansas Infantry Regiment at

This history states that Co. K of the 7th Ky Inf Reg was assigned to the 13th AR Inf Reg on April 13, 1862 as a second "Company E".
