When I started my Leach genealogy search, I found out that my great-grandfather, George W. Leach and his brother, Alfred Kelly Leach, were in the 17th KY Infantry. George W. Leach was sick most of the time with piles and disease of the feet and reading his civil war pension records are very interesting as told the battles that they fought in over the four year period - Pittsburg Landing, Shiloh, Athens and Sherman's march to Atlanta. I am interested in any pictures that maybe available. My ggrandfather has a military stone and is in a private cemetery in Prentiss, Ohio Co., KY. It states Geo W Leach - "H" Co. - 17th KY Inf
Any information on the Leach, Shepherd, Mefford,Bell, and Borah families, Prentiss community, and Slaty Creek Baptist Church will be greatly appreciated..
