A civil war painting that the family has on hardboard shows
a toll crossing about the time of the civil war a wooden
arm crossing toll both.It is signed only with the words
HARRODSBURG PIKE,KY. We know that civil war soldiers used this site and that the Union army held this point.
The painting is in oil and a primitive style but very good.
We would like to know who the artist was and anyadditional information.The frame is aperiod walnut frame.
Hope some help can be shined on this puzzling painting and history.No one at the Ky. state historical society knows anything or the local county history museum.
