Some of my research indicates that Col. Faulkner of the Twelfth Kentucky Cavalry, a part of the Kentucky Brigade, led the charge at Harrisburg, thus bringing on the engagement and with the Kentucky Brigade in the lead of the fight they took the heaviest casualties. I think the Confederate generals in charge had not properly or thoroughly gathered information on the enemy before the battle.
There are two different versions of Forrest casualty lists and I have copies of both.
