4th KY Infantry, CSA, at Camp Burnett, TN

I ran across two letters from members of the "Lee Guards," Company B, Fourth Kentucky Infantry, CSA, that were written from Camp Burnett, Tennessee, and published in the Henderson, Kentucky, newspaper in 1861. One was written by Eugene L. Johnston and the other by Thomas A. Higgs. Johnston menstions that Camp Burnett "is situated about a mile from the Louisville and Clarksville Railroad, on the farm of Mr. Merriwether--a noble Tennessean.--It is distant about 3 and a half miles from Camp Boone and 2 miles from Camp Breckinridge." Higgs gives Company B of the Fourth at Camp Burnett as 4 miles from Camp Boone and 1 mile from the Kentucky line.
