I'm looking for information about my ggrandfather Thomas W. Dixon b.1843 in Henderson Co. Ky. I don't know whether he served in either army but he would have been 18 and prime age to go to war in 1861.I have found a Pvt.Thomas Dixon in Co.I 9th Ky.Inf. And a Corp.Thomas Dixon in Co.G 22nd Ky.Inf.However I have now way of validating whether either one of them is my ggrandfather.Did enlistment papers or muster sheets tell the town or county the soldier was from or give his age?I did not see a Thomas Dixon in any of the Confederate rosters for Ky.Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
