In Response To: Confederate Kentucky ()

I understand what you are tryin to say. How we should all remember our ancestors own both sides. But in the part of kentucky im from(fulton county)there was not one soldier givin to the union army. Every one was a confederate. But also all the kentuckians that joined to be confederates had to sneak passed union occupiers to inlist in tennesse. And later durin the war they could not enlist again because there state was occupied by the union and they were fightin some wher else.Besides while the union occupied kentucky the soldiers and yankees that wer ther forced many a noble southerner to join the union.Believe me i had family members that wer forced to do that. And the union brought the draft to kentucky and the confederates could not.Plus theunion let the slaves or forced them to fight way before any other state and many southern sympathizers wer put in prision. And another thang. Hold own to yor hats. Kentucky did secede from the union. Kentuckys southern constitution is at frankfort. So Mr.Baker. Ther is no doubt in my mind that kentucky was just as southern as mississippi. Just the bad luck of its location kept it from shoin it.
