I am trying to find the regiment of an ancestor who lived in Wayne County in 1860. According to a g-greatuncles's obit, he was in the northern army, and was killed in the Civil War.

Unfortunately he had a common name - John Hudson (no middle name). He was born around 1828 in Virginia. He married in 1848 in Campbell County, Tennessee. He is listed as a farm laborer in the 1860 census living in Monticello, Wayne County, Kentucky. His wife's name was Ruhama. I have looked at the pension index cards and cannot find her there so I don't think she applied for a pension. She moved to Indiana during the war and remarried there in 1869.

Would anyone know what regiments contained men from Wayne County?
