Being a native of Alabama, but a resident of Kentucky, I find myself in frequent debates as to which way KY "really" went in the Civil War. I've tried Google searches, but have had no luck in quantifying this to something even remotely objective. So, can someone please tell me:

What was the population of Kentucky in 1861; the total number of Kentuckians that then served in the US Army; the total number serving in the CS Army; and then similar breakdown for casualties?
