Just how complete are the rosters of the 3rd Kentucky? I found a nice, old inscription on a musket stock that clearly and in large letters says "J W Burch Co. G 3rd KY vol"
but I can't find this fellow on the rosters of either Union or Conferate 3rd Kentucky.
Why not?
