That should be Capt. Matthew Mullins of Co. A of the 18th Kentucky Vol. Infantry, U.S.A. Capt. Benjamin Berry Mullins, Co. C, 1st Kentucky Mounted Infantry, C.S.A. was his older brother. They were both the sons of Richard Mullins of Grassy Creek in Pendleton Co., Kentucky. The Mullins family was prominent and huge in the county.
