Re: Surviving Members After war of Kentucky Brigad

The United Confederate Veteran camps in the Jackson Purchase of Kentucky were full of former members of Forrest's Kentucky Brigade. The largest proportion of members of the Jackson Purchase UCV camps had been members of Forrest's Kentucky Brigade. Actually the Jackson Purchase counties of Kentucky were the largest contributor to the units of Forrest's Kentucky Brigade. There are several local reunion photographs that I know of and have copies of that have many members of Forrest's Kentucky Brigade. As a military veteran myself and a Confederate military historian the 3rd, 7th, & 8th Kentucky were officially, by the Confederate Government, designated as "Infantry," not "Mounted Infantry." Please don't accept the US Government's designation of these units as correct.
