2nd Kentucky Cavalry CSA [Woodard's] Info

I have just received National Archives xeroxes of my great half uncle's service in Woodard's 2nd Kentucky Calvary. Xeroxes include several muster rolls, surrender oath and a quartermaster record of a coat purchase. Besides state archives [Frankfort], where would be other places to search him out? Also of course, interested in the best place to get a regimental history of Woodard's 2nd Kentucky and information on his commanders [maybe]. It looks like he was with them from October 17, 1861 until May 9, 1865. He was a 2nd Lieutenant in Company G. His name was Ira D. Nunn. I wonder possibly where he went and what he did and would like to find out where the best info exists. Thanks. Any help/advice appreciated.
