I think the newspaper article was mostly about the churches his sisters and/or their families attended. I believe that he just brought his sisters to Paducah--he didn't stay himself.

I wonder if perhaps his younger sister, Clarissa attending the Presbyterian Church locally--perhaps that was the "family" religion prior to moving. That's pretty much a guess on my part though.
